Ten best practices for teaching listening to adult literacy learners will be presented to inform classroom instruction by offering practical perception activities within a metacognitive approach. The best practices are the result of a synthesis of second-language listening and ESL literacy literature in Wells’ MEd TESL capstone project.


Tammy Wells

ECSD - Sacred Heart Foundations Program
Tammy Wells is a 2019 graduate from the University of Alberta's MEd TESL program. She is currently working as a 3L LINC literacy instructor in ECSD's Sacred Heart Foundations Program in Edmonton. She has also taught Foundations, CLB 1L, and sewing to newcomers.
